Welcome to the PEMDAS/BODMAS or Order of Operations lesson! This lesson is gonna be short, so just stay to learn a bit if you don't know!
Now I recommend looking at the Fundamental Arithmetic page first before looking at this, because it explains all of the operations used in this lesson.
Alright, so, im guessing you looked at the fundamental arithmetic page now. You may ask, what is PEMDAS? What is BODMAS? What even is an 'Order of Operations'? Well, let me explain. So, you think you can read math just from left to right? Well think again! Each operation has its PRIORITY. This means you must do one operation before the others! So, the Order of Operations explains this. PEMDAS means Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division, Addition and Subtraction. Parentheses are these little round brackets that surround tinier equations or numbers hidden in a bigger equation, kind of like (5+5)+6. This means you must do the contents inside of the parentheses first, and you can even nest it making each deeper part have more priority. Then we have exponents, which are just exponents. Now, remember, that if there is multiple of one operation in an equation, you can read it from left to right. So in (5+5)+6+(5+4), you would do the left-most parentheses first, then the second part, then add the middle +6. Anyways, now we have Multiplication and Division. These both have same priority, so just read left to right. Same for Addition and Subtraction! Understand now? Hope you do! Let's do some equations. The first part are the equations, and the second part is the answers to each! You can even play a game, time yourself answering all questions, or even make one where you get a point for each correct one you did!
Remember that you can check multiplication and division using inverse operations. To check multiplication, divide the result by one of the numbers. To check division, multiply the answer by the divisor to see if you get the original number!
Bonus Tip: Why do you think I haven't explained BODMAS yet? Well, PEMDAS is more common than BODMAS which is why I explained it first, but BODMAS is actually a bit more specific than PEMDAS. It means Brackets and Orders instead of Parentheses and Exponents, because Brackets are all brackets such as (), [] or {} and Orders means Exponents and Roots.

How many points did you get? Or how long did it take? If you got 5/5 points, great! If you answered all of these questions in under a minute, great! Now you know all about PEMDAS!
